Phytochemistry
The principle ingredients of
Holarrhena antidysenterica are antidysentericine
1 and other alkaloids
2. The main chemical constituents in
Hydrocotyle asiatica are asiaticoside, which is a triterpene glycoside, brahmoside and brahminoside, which are saponin glycosides and madecassoside, a glycoside. The plant is also a source of vitamin K, magnesium, calcium and sodium.
Clinical Pharmacology
Amproz capsule decreases the intestinal motility and reduces the frequency of bowel movements. Due to its powerful amebicidal action, Amproz controls amebic dysentery. The anti-spasmodic action in Amproz capsule relieves the abdominal pain and discomfort. The astringent properties of Amproz capsule normalizes the intestinal flora and corrects chronic dysentery.
Indications
Acute and chronic diarrhea and amebic dysentery.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage
Adult: 2 Capsules twice a day or as directed by the physician
Children: 1 capsule twice a day
