Phytochemistry

The principal ingredient of Adhatoda vasica is vasicine and vasicionine¹. Main chemical components of Piper longum are piperine, rutin, beta- caryophyllene piperyline, piperoleines, piperamine and limonene². Main chemical components of Zingiber officinale are gingeole, zingerone, shogaol, zingiberene, vanillyl alcohol, camphene and resin³. The fruit of Piper nigram contains volatile oil, piperine and a resin 4. Amomum subulatum seeds contain 3% essential oil - 1,8-cineol (more that 70%), limonene, terpinene, terpineol, terpinyl acetate and sabinene 5. The primary chemical constituents of Cinnamomum zeylanicum are cinnamaldehyde, water extrctable L-arabino-D-xylan, D-glucal, cinnazeylanin, cinnzeylanol & tannin (cinnamm & tannin B1) 6. Main constituents of Ocimum sanctum are tannins, alkaloids and volatile oil (mainly consists of eugenol, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid, thymol, linalool and beta-caryophyllene) 7. Nabasadar is a kind of white crystal mineral substance which has mucolytic & expectorant properties.




Clinical Pharmacology

Lobodil paste acts as mast cell stabilizer & inhibits highly stimulated
Leukocytes which are acts as the main causative factors of Bronchial asthma and allergic bronchitis. It also exerts bronchodilating, mucolytic & expectorant properties as well as reduces mucosal irritation & related bronchiospasm to combat breathlessness and facilitates easy expectoration. Lobodil paste exhibits significant profylaxis as its powerful anti-allergic property subsides triggering factors of asthma. Due to almost no side effect, no drug to drug interaction and no pharyngeal dryness it would be the safest alternative to be continued for long term even in children.

  • Recurrent respiratory allergies due to pollen, food, pets, dust etc.

Dosage

Children: 1 tsp twice daily
Adult: 2 tsp twice daily, in the morning on empty stomach and at night half an hour before the principal meal.
